Welcome back once again, I am having a blast going out and about in Chincoteague and eating some of the best food ever. I absolutely love living in this area and having so many dining choices where the food is always amazing. This post I am featuring a favorite for so many, Sea Star Café. 

This sweet gem just opened for the season and I was right there when they took the chain off the stairs to start their season. They are open Thursday thru Sunday from 11am to 6pm. They are seasonal and they usually are open from April until November.

Brian & Mercer have created one of the best gourmet sandwich shops on the East Coast. Their love for their customers and their business shows in the amazing food that they serve. They have an ALL are welcome attitude and they love everyone. Their fresh baked breads, brownies, teas and cookies are so good and full of flavor, you will be glad you stopped in. Their sandwiches, wraps and salads are made to order and are fresh and delicious. They also serve some of the best homemade soups, I had their creamy herb potato soup with jalapeño bacon, oh my was it incredible. Don't forget to try one of their fresh brewed iced teas, always a treat.

Grabbing a sandwich here and heading to the beach is a great plan for the day and one you will not regret. There is something on their menu for everyone and your taste buds will thank you. Be sure to check their Twitter page for their daily specials.

Do they offer outside dining? Yes, they have picnic tables set up outside by the water and chairs up on their deck.

What are they most famous for? The best gourmet sandwiches on the island.

What is my personal favorite item on the menu? I honestly can't decide. Their sandwiches are incredible and I just had a salad and it was so good and full of flavor.

A word to the wise when it comes to stopping here, their food is amazing, they are an island favorite and there will be a wait while they prepare each order with love. It will be worth the wait.

What would you like to know?

 Good morning everyone, Thank you all for the reassurance for me to do this. Again, I am not a food critic at all, I just love food. I am excited to start this journey with you as we explore the dining options here on Chincoteague and what each establishment has to offer us. I have added the "FOLLOW" gadget to the blog for anyone that wants to follow me. Again this is all new to me and I had to Google how to do that....lol. But hopefully I did it right and you can follow me around Chincoteague as I go place by place and answer some important questions that you might have about dining in Chincoteague. I created this questionnaire that I will take to each restaurant/food truck and complete it and type a blog up for each restaurant. I can't believe I am doing this

 Hi everyone, I have never created a blog before, but I have felt called to do this one. I started coming to Chincoteague in 1982 when my parents bought a place at Trails End. I hate to admit this, but the 17 year old me did not instantly fall in love with Chincoteague. I was eaten alive by the mosquitoes and attacked by the green headed flies. One thing that I always did love about Chincoteague was the dining. Oh I remember the Landmark Restaurant and Skippers All You Can Eat Seafood Buffet (I think they hated to see my family coming in the door). Island Creamery when it was Mr. Chocolates and their amazing ice cream and homemade waffle cones, oh and don't forget their fudge. Oh I remember all of the flavors. My dad loved to grab an oyster sandwich at the carnival or a bowl of New England clam chowder from Etta's (when it was where Mr. Baldy's is now). Oh those were the best days.
